We’ve published hundreds of poets over the past four years, many of which have poetry collections available for sale. We thought it would be a good idea to make some of those collections available to our readers. So without further ado, we’re announcing the launch of our Four and Twenty aStore (powered by Amazon.com). Here you can find books by many of our featured authors, some of our staff members’ favorite poetry collections, and our recommended resources for poets and teachers. Visit our aStore at http://astore.amazon.com/fouandtwepoe-20.
Special Issue: Poems and Artwork from Students at York Elementary
February 22, 2011We are pleased to share with you a special edition of Four and Twenty featuring poems and artwork by the students in Laura Truitt’s fifth grade class at York Elementary in Vancouver, Washington. Click here or on the image below to download this special issue (PDF 2.8 MB).
This issue was inspired by the Classroom Publishing project at Ooligan Press. In January, our publisher made a trip to Ms. Truitt’s class to teach her students about the process of publishing a poetry journal. These talented students put what they learned into practice by partnering with our publisher to create this student-written, student-edited issue of Four and Twenty. We are happy to share with you the amazing result of all their hard work.
Call for Cover Art Submissions
January 10, 2011We are seeking cover art for multiple upcoming issues of Four and Twenty. We are particularly interested in images that convey a sense of community. We are also partial to images that tell a story or give a strong sense of place. We accept both illustrations and photographic images.
Artists may submit up to three original images. Please note that landscape-oriented artwork that can be cropped to fit a 7” x 3.5” space works best with our journal’s design.
All submissions must be sent electronically to {submissions at 4and20poetry dot com}. All files should have a minimum quality of 300 dpi. Please submit files in one of the following formats: TIFF, JPEG, PNG, EPS, or PDF. Please do not submit native Photoshop or Illustrator files.
All artwork is subject to the same rights agreement as the poetry we publish (see our submissions page for more information on our rights agreement).
The deadline for the first round of consideration is January 31.
